Google Updates Google Glass Operating System

While Google Glass still isn’t a tech being widely embraced, especially when it comes to retail companies, Google is working as hard as it can to improve upon the technology. Late last week, the firm announced an update to the software XE20.1, this means that users now have better contact management, head nudge and even more voice commands than before.
The patch that was released last week seems to directly address a number of complaints people have had with Google Glass since it was first released. It has been rather difficult to add contacts but that is being fixed with this update. Before people could add contacts in the MyGlass interface but only contacts that were manually added were the ones a user could message through the eye-mounted computer.
The update will allow Glass to access all of a user’s contacts and will have starred contacts showing up when using quick voice access. The contacts that aren’t starred will still be plenty accessible; you will just need to swipe in order to get to them in Google Glass. Along with easier access to contacts, the Head Nudge is considered a nice new feature. The command has allowed people to turn off Google Glass with a simple nod, but there hasn’t been a settings card available for the feature until now. With the settings card, users can actually turn this feature on or off, that means that people who don’t want to accidently nod their heads and turn the device off will have the option of turning the feature off instead.
Those new features, as well as a couple other minor additions will no doubt make Google Glass more attractive to people who are already using the gadget.  Only time will tell whether, or not the new features make the device more attractive to people in the consumer and professional world.
